New worms this year hit the Valentine Day

Welcome, if you like the post do subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

News of 2 new worms which target lovers all over the world with one worm working as a email with the subject “I love you so much”,”Inside My Heart” and such love lines to make netizens open a mail which directs them to a link and make them download a “e-greeting” which is nothing but a malicious code.

These new worms name Valentine.E and Nuwar.OL have striked the word St.Valentines to hit the target.Amongst which Nuwar.OL follows the e-mail sending trait with loveable subjects while Valentine.E does the similar function but with subject lines like “Find True Love Here”,”Searching for True Love” and has a attached file “friends4u”.

Once the worm enters the user computer it multiplies like other worms and also creates a desktop which looks similar to the infected’s desktop. And further sends e-mails to other users from the infected computer.

These such type of attacks are increasing now on the Internet ,So it is an advise to all not to download attachments from unknown sources and not even to click links which look suspicious and aren’t from known senders. If you want to still visit the link don’t click on the link through the e-mail rather type it on the address bar of your browser and then visit.Because mostly links in e-mails are forwarded to the website having malicious code and unknowingly you visit the site which you haven’t clicked.

Lastly, get a decent working Internet Security System Installed in your computer and make sure you update is regularly so that you can stay away from the old as well as new malicious strains.

Written by V on January 29, 2008 – 3:01 am -

Online community Myspace.com owned by News Corp. is partnering a deal with BBC Corp., to broadcast some of its programs its own network, making its the site’s first of its global content deal with a major network. It will present selected programs which would include interviews of big personalities, comedy shows and even some classics through MySpace’s own video platform ,MySpaceTV.

This will also allow users to embed these videos in their personalized web pages and share with friends. This could give BBC Corp. a little more boost by telecasting programs and spread it worldwide and make new viewership by getting new audiences.

BBC already has been involved in such type of deals earlier. BBC has a similar deal with youtube to provide BBC’s own content on free video sharing platform/service owned by Google Inc. ,Youtube.

BBC and MySpace will share the advertising revenue under this deal.

Yahoo in Online Music

Written by V on January 29, 2008 – 2:52 am -

Yahoo Music is quite famous for its present service which includes free online audio streaming, music videos ,Web Radio. It also manages a paid music subscription and also some premium Internet Radio Service. Now Yahoo Inc. is in early talks with major record companies to offer unprotected mp3s for sale or free music which would include ads. Yahoo hopes to launch this service till end of this year .

Music Companies like Universal Music, Sony BMG, Warner Bros Music Corp., and EMI have started licensing their music for sale as MP3 files through Amazon.com giving them a little more internet penetration. If Yahoo’s service might work out, then it would give them some good penetration even in offline world. Unlike music files that come from copy protections MP3 files are compatible with portable music devices like Apple Inc.’s iPod , Microsoft Inc.’s Zune and now major mobile phones.

Yahoo Music

This would be really great for all company as well as Yahoo because past years statistics show that there has been fall in the Yahoo music subscriptions and also as everyone knows Piracy has stolen the music world. So Yahoo is more working on providing ads-supported music service rather than sale of MP3s.
