AMD Unveils Three New Phenom Triple Core

April 24th, 2008

Advanced Micro Devices(AMD) unveiled three Phenom Triple core processors for less than $200. The three new models are the Phenom X3 8750, 8650 and 8450, which have clock speeds of 2.4 GHz, 2.3 GHz and 2.1 GHz, respectively, per core. Pricing is $195 for the 8750, $165 for the $8650 and $145 for the 8450.

It was AMD’s time when low budget with high performance was AMD’s vision. But Intel working harder and getting better processors with 50% cut in present processor prices(mostly 65nm), AMD has no way to stand in the market. So this could be AMD’s strategy to roll out processors which could challenge the dual-cores and be less expensive and lame replacement to quad cores of the rival company.
