Fixing Cydia Repository Errors

Many  a times it happens that you type bad errorfilled Repo url while adding Repo in Cydia. And later end up seeing that error everytime you start Cydia. And sometimes these sources don’t appear in the Sources List too.

But now you can fix these errors, just download Cyfix from this site. Just download the Manual Scirpt. And get ready to do some  geeky stuff. This is a script and has to be run manually via terminal.

What you need?
OpenSSH
SSH Client
Download Terminal from Cydia

How to use:

-SSH the cyfix script onto the iDevice and place it in /usr/bin. Edit the file permissions to 0775

-Open Terminal > and login via as admin. Then run the script cyfix which wouldask you the troubling source url. Add the Source url which gives you that error and it would be removed. Still confused? Follow these commands

su root
alpine
cyfix
<url>

The first instance when you run cyfix it would install that script. Once the installation part is done, just respring your device and do it again. This time it would ask you the url.

Some Cyfix Commands
cyfix -h – help
cyfix u – updates (Checks for auto updates and udpates itself)
exitnow – At any time if you goof up typing the url in between, just type this command and hit return. It would exit cyfix.

That should solve your problem.

Still stuck somewhere and clueless ? Drop a comment.

    Hey Tricia,
Once you SSH the file in the device, right click on the file and you would have the option to change permissions.

There is a new terminal version, i would update the post w/ that info soon.
