Its wouldn’t be that shocking for anyone now , but Nintendo reported $1 Billion Hardware sales making the Q4 sales rise up by 60%. Looking at the sales barometer, the number of consoles sold is half the number of the had DS sold. The consoles only count the 18.6 million mark while the DS shows 30.3 million units and shocking 15.9 million Game Boy Advance were sold in this period.

This phenomenal increase in the sales can solely be credited to the launch of Wii, more and more gamers, casual as well as hardcore are switching to a cheaper gaming alternative as Consoles getting more and more competitive with Microsoft and Sony stacking up cores and graphic processors to get the best possible realistic output, Nintendo plays safe and brainy. With easy to play and hard to master games and closest possible realism, these the interactive games are fit for all.

The demand has forced Nintendo to increase its console monthly production capacity from 1.8 million to 2.4 million sooner in few weeks. Nintendo stores claim, an average Wii lays on the shelf not more than 2 hours since it is brought in the store.

Analysts assume, with the games like Super Mario and Wii Fit, the sales might increase substantially.

Microsoft’s XBOX360 sales are lagging behind the date given to buyers. The demand is more than expected and its even expected that the sales have touched 254,000 Consoles the previous month.

Nintendo Wii managing to get the market with sales touching 351,000 consoles last month. Wii managed to break the graphic barrier from the console market .

Sony’s Playstation 3 shows an upsetting sales figure 280,000 consoles. Though it higher than Microsoft, but hell Microsoft has already been in the market for a while the company has seen a higher numbers long back.

Microsoft has already declined Blu-Ray for being its Disc format and will stick to HD Disc. Its also been speculated that Microsoft would cut console prices by 15-20% soon. Trying to get back in the market post Wii success.
